Modern numeric control technology is developing very rapidly nowadays. Considering the gear hob's complicated structure and certain progress compared to the other tools, it is still very important to research the gear hob.Today we meet a good stage to change the tradition hob to a numeric control tool depend on the fast-developing numeric control and electronic design automation technology. This article adopt a method that based on open numeric control system and add a special card, so that the tool can not only hobbing but also turning and milling.This article discussed several methods of manufacturing gear, especially gear hobbing, also discussed the relationship of each axis, and made some calculations for each chain, then get the control model of its movement, and mainly discussed the design of electronic gear and electronic differential, Using graphic method design the electronic gear and electronic differential, using VHDL hardware language design reversible counter, at last simulated the circuit. In this way the hardware circuit displaced the machine, shortened the chain and simplified the construction, improved the quality of gear.This article adopted VHDL language design the hardware, and the system create circuit automatically, so it break the barriers of software and hardware, make hardware compiling as easy as software. User can rebuild and recompile as they want. It shortened the developing period, made the card smaller than before, and reduced the cost.
