In this experiment. Blast furnace slag was used as main media, cement and 801 glue was used as the mucosity to make granule media, then beer wastewater was treated by biological aerated filter (BAF) with this granule media.Five factors-Cement dosages, 801 glue dosages, blast furnace slag dosages . maintaining times with water , maintaining time , were used in the experiment ,and the best condition were cement dosages 10%, blast furnace slag dosages 700g . 801 glue dosage 6%. maintaining times with water 6 times per day, maintaining time 3 days. The SEM showed that the surface of filter media was rough the gap was more, specific surface area was 4.0 - 5.0 m2/g , average compression strength was 5.8 MPa and no heavy metal was found.BAF was designed and used to treat beer wastewater in this experiment, the results are listed as followed:To start-up the BAF by a new forming biofilm method, COD removal ratio reached and maintained 80% at the 6th day, NH4+-N removal reached and maintained 90% at the 11th day.The result of characteristic of backwashing showed that COD removal ratio was up to 80% 1 day after backwashing, COD removal reached the level before backwashing 2day after backwashing, NH4+-N removal reached the leval before backwashing 1 day after backwashing.The result of contamination wiped off orderliness of BAF at different HRT showed that COD and NH4+-N removal were lower when HRT was shorter but gas-water ratios was fixedness.The result of contamination wiped off orderliness of BAF at different gas-water ratios showed that COD and NH4+-N removal was lower when gas-water ratio was smaller but HRT was fixedness.The result of contamination wiped off orderliness of BAF at different media height showed that COD removal increased fast under the 100cm height and reached 80% at 100cm height but increased slow at 100cm-150cm square, NH4+-N removal was only 33.6% under the 100cm height and increased to 90.6% at 100cm-150cm square.The result of SND of BAF showed that with the influent NO2--N and NO3- -N increased but NH4+-N and TN fell, the decrement of NH4+-N had certain connection with the increase of NO2--N and NO3-3-N, and tent to balance at last.The result of restart of BAF after stop showed that after 1 week of stop, BAF could turned to normal after 3 days ,COD and NH4+-N removal can reach the standard before BAF stop.The result of degradation kinetics of BAF after stop showed that COD removal to COD concentration was first-order reaction.
