The clinker cooler plays an important role of cooling and delivering in cement production process. Its manipulate quality of drive system determine the whole process stability. In addition, cooling performance of the cement cooler effects the quality of the cement and the efficiency of heat reclaim. The thickness of clinker layer is one of the most important parameters in the cooler's control system. It impacts the speed of cross bars and wind supplying. Therefore, it is very urgent to measure the thickness of clinker layer real-time. And also it is very important for improving the quality of the product and the productivityIn this paper, after summarizing the experience of measurement methods of domestic and foreign, we present a method that based on CCD. And this method offers the advantages of high sensitivity, no electromagnetic interference and non-contact. So it can measure clinker thickness precisely in the cooler on-line. Furthermore, it can supply real-time and reliable parameter for the control system.Aiming at the problem that grate cooler fluctuate acutely in the transverse thickness aroused by isolation phenomenon when the clinker fall, we rebuild three dimensions for thickness field information of grate cooler clinker using"binocular"stereo measurement theory based on bionics, and mainly solve the matching problem of correspondence points in the"binocular"stereo measurement. We design sub-line matching method based on dyadic wavelet transformation, It is based on that the multi-scale local maxima of wavelet transform can obtain the locations of the signal sharp variation points at different scales for transformation coefficients of a quadratic spline wavelet, A coarse to fine matching algorithm is applied to match the endpoints. After that, we should go along point to point matching calculate in term of sequence according principle. The simulink result proves that this method has higherveracity and speediness than traditional matching method.
