Since the 20 century, the Fe-N material has been comprehensively studied and applicated for its good wear resistance,corrosion and magnetics property.In this paper Fe-N powder metallurgy material was prepared by the technics course of gas nitriding,cool isostatic pressing and sintering with the raw material of pure iron. The microstrcture and composition of Fe-N powder and Fe-N powder metallurgy material were observed and characterized by metallographic microscope and X-ray diffraction(XRD). At the same time, the configuration and morphology of Fe-N powder material were analyzed by SEM and TEM. Comparing the property of Fe-N powder material with that of iron base material, the density was tested by drownproofing,the microhardness were tested by HRD-1000TM hardness device, the wearing test for specimens was conducted in a interual M-2000 device, the corrosion resistance was conducted in SO2Y/Q250 experiment box, and the magnetic property of Fe-N powder material was weasured by SQUID method.The results showed that the main component of Fe-N powder was Fe3iN, while Fe-N powder metallurgy material contains iron and partial γ'-Fe4iN while the nitrogen escaped in sitering. It was found that the density of this material was lower than that of iron- based material, but the hardness was up to HV0.05371.5 which was 0.4—0.9 higher than iron-based maerial, meanwhile ware resisting property was improved 6. 5 times, and in corrosion experniment,the the proportion area of Fe-N after 24h was only 0.8%, while iron-based...
