The shortage of water resource and pollution of water environment are becoming one of the most serious problems with continual advancement of science and technology, rapid development of industry and largely increase of population, human society are facing crisis of water. The removal of organic micropollutant from drinking water has become a crucial problem. Thus, more and more attention is being focused on advanced oxidation processes (AOPs). Among various technologies used for water purification, sonolysis/O3 system has received more attention due to its advantages of high efficiency and easy application.The experiments were about the efficiency of individual oznolysis, sonolysis of micropolluted Songhua River water on different parameters, as well as the sonolysis/O3 system was compared. Some conclusions were made as follows: The removal efficiency on organics was improved but not obviously by the increase of ozone dose, which proved the existence of optimal ozone doses of the oxidation processes, it was 5.0mg/L in this experiment; Although the removal rate of organics increased as hydraulic retention time elevated, the efficiency increase become slowly down; The removal efficiency on organics was improved obviously by the temperature of experiments decrease, which proved the temperature of experiments had a distinct influence.Although the removal efficiency on organics was improved by the increase of ultrasonic power, the capability of oxidation of the dividual sonolysis system was limited, and the time of reaction was so long, which proved the existence of optimal ultrasonic power of the oxidation processes, it was 2.60W/cm2 in this experiment; The experiments proved that the removal efficiency on organics was best when the ultrasonic transducer with diverse frequence were put in three-dimentional space.The result showed that more organic pollutant in this natural water was removed by US/O3 system than ozonation alone and ultrasonic alone, which proved the existence of synergetic effect.
