Giving a broad overview of the malfunction of metal parts, we found that abrasion accounts for a major percentage. People always attaches great importance to resolving the problem of abrasion through searching new repair welding materials with low cost and high abrasive resistance.Petroleum drill stem joint in this study is one of the key equipments in petroleum drilling. High abrasive resistance and corrosive resistance are essentially required because the joint operates under the condition of high pressure and strong abrasion over a long period of time. Currently in many oil fields in China one drill stem joint is used for only one well-time and then rejected, which greatly decreases the drilling efficiency. Therefore, how to increase the abrasive resistance of the drill stem joint thus increase its service life and drilling efficiency has become an urgent problem to solve.In this study the full utilization of Chinese resources, decreasing the cost, and enhancing the economical efficiency were taken into consideration, thus a kind of economical abrasion resistant plasma repair welding alloy powder(iron-born alloy powder) with high abrasive resistance was availed. To discover the influence on the weld index and the weld layer decided by the technological parameters, the optimum technological parameters and technological measures were formulated. Secondly, the micro organisms of the iron-borne alloy were studied and the fortifying principles of the weld layer were pointed out.
