With the improvement and development of science & technology, traditional materials can not satisfy the application in many areas. Such materials with varieties of performances are in badly needed, so MMC (Metal Matrix Composite) has attracted much interest for their potential use. However, for process of producing, the infiltration and heat transfer of molten metal in preform for the foundry arts and crafts of MMC are the crucial factors. At present, many papers have been published about squeeze casting process, but another effective method (centrifugal casting processing) is seldom researched so far.In this paper, the infiltration of molten metal in ideal preform was analysed firstly, with the assumption that the infiltration surface was smooth, the regulation of critical infiltration among minimum rotational speed,minimum mass of Al and minimum porosity was investigated about infiltration of Al in rectangular parallelepiped Al2O3 preform. Finally, the formula of critical infiltration was set up, and the results have much guidance for the operation and majorization of centrifugal infiltration technology.The cold state experiment was conducted by using self-product preform. Firstly, the experimental study was carried on glycerol's infiltration in preform under centrifugal force field. The results show that saturation position was formed at the rare of preform; the growth race of saturation length was gradually gentle with the time flow and addition of rotational speed. Secondly, using mercury simulated infiltration of molten Al in preform.
