As the lack of petroleum resources become serious,the fuel ethanol as the substitute of petroleum is concerned in the world. The energy consumption of fuel ethanol separating technology affect both the efficiency of resources and the economical benefit of enterprise of producing fuel ethanol. Cutting down the energy consumption for product of fuel ethanol,which must bring about great benefit for fuel ethanol industry.The main part of energy consumption for the existing separation technology of fuel ethanol is distillation.In order to reduce energy consumption,It is significant to improve the existing technology and optimize the heat exchange networks of fuel ethanol separation technology.In this paper,the industrialized separating system of fule ethanol is simulated by making use of the chemical engineering simulation software proâ…¡.The industrialized separation system of fuel ethanol have been improved by making use ofdouble-effective distillation technology,and a new double-effective distillation process of fuel ethanol have been designed. As one of optimizing methods of heat exchange networks,Pinch analysis is used to diagnosing the energy consumption condition of the industrialized technology system and the new double-effective distillation process to find where the bottleneck loaded. By means of improving the streams match properly, the utility through pinch is reduced, consequently the consumption of the utility in the heat exchanger networks is decreased.After the industrialized technology is improved by making use of double-effective distillation technology, the new double-effective distillation process reduced 32.52% heating utilities and 34.23% cool utilities when one ton fuel ethanol is produced.After the industrialized technology is integrated,about 11.70kW heating utility is saved per ton, it is equival to 19.46kg steam.and due to the more optimizing of system,about 118.95kg steam is saved per ton. In the same time, 119.90kW cooling utility is saved per ton,it is equival to 12.93t circulation water.After the new double-effective distillation process is integrated, 12.32 kW heating utility is saved per ton,It is equival to 20.51kg steam, 115.19 kW cooling utility is saved per ton,it is equival to 12.42t circulation water.
