Case-based reasoning (CBR) is a problem-solving approach of the artificial intelligence, and its essence is to solve a new problem by using the solutions to the old problems. The application of CBR in numerical control turning processing field is investigated. When a new workpiece is to be machined by numerical control turning, the cutting solution of the successfully machined old workpiece, similar to the new one, can be retrieved by the use of CBR, and be refereed to as the proposed solution to the new workpiece. Establish numerical control turning system by the use of CBR, could shorten the time of CAPP and decision-making,could make use of practice experience bett er. Currently, research of CAPP system of CBR fasten on general machining. Paper aim at CAPP system of numerical control turning processing using CBR , develop research of CAPP system of CBR. Firstly.this Paper studies the expression and building of cases models. According to the requirements of process design of CBR,this paper, adopting characteristic techniques, builds a kind of model that can support CBR techniques.Secondly, this paper gives a searches process of cases.Considering techniques of part,this paper provide a likelihood decision rule based on characteristic and processes. Direction,this rule enhances the veracity of case matching, improves the reuse of cases process.Lastly, this paper studies Preliminarily modification of cases. The author thinks that adopting CBR techniques to design Proeess can resolve the "knowledge bottle-neck "problem.
