In conventional process, the hollow parts were produced by casting, forging and welding and manufacturing. From 70s, a new technology-hydroforming had emerged. Tube hydroforming was using special equipment to produce hundreds and even thousands MPa forming pressure to form the parts. Because of it' s forming pressure field distributed uniformity stabilization, the quality of products were high and the application field in cold forming was very wide.Due to the excessively-large strain of the very complicated forming process, its analysis in theory was very difficult and the study about it was not popular in domestic. Aiming at the urgent needs of research and manufacture, this paper investigated the forming process and process engineering of X-joint hydroforming with finite element simulation (FEM) software DYNAFORM.The forming process of X-joint hydroforming was investigated. At first, analyzed the hydroforming process and the forming rule, compared this method to the traditional technique, indicated the influences of the hydroforming process. And then, in order to improve the simulation efficiency, deduced the process parameters with engineering algorithm. Thirdly, the finite element theory foundation of computer simulation technology was introduced simply, analyzed and sum up the application trait and function of the sheet forming simulation software-DYNAFORM. Fourthly, by using the dynamic explicit FEA software-DYNAFORM, analyzed the influence of internal pressure, extrusion force , symmetry and asymmetry back force , pointed out their loading relationship, and showed the elicit optimal loading curve. Afterwards, analyses the friction coefficient, and elicit its infection disciplinarian curve.The analysis method and the conclusion in this paper can fulfills the manufacturing requirement, and has universal guide and reference means to the continual application of investigation and generalization.
