With the further development of industrial technology and urbanization, the polluting materials from cities and factories increase quickly, especially the contents of heavy metals are higher and higher because every kind of industrial waste liquids drain into the water substance. And they have seriously influnced the health and life of human and the other creatures. The research of removing heavy metal ions has been an important issue.The paper has introduced chelating adsorption and chemical flocculation to remove heavy metal ions. The synthesized N,N-dithio-carboxyl diethylenetriamine polyethylene and dithiocarbamates macromolecule heavy metal flocculant had both been as heavy metal capturing agent. The contents and conclusion of research have been given.①N,N-dithio-carboxyl Diethylenetriamine polyethylene has been synthesized by two ways. The solubility and melting point of the product had been researched and it has also been characterized by UV and IR spectra. The results of optimum condition for synthesis of the product have shown that, by two steps way, the productivity has been 67.5%, when diethylenetriamine was 11.75mL; carbon bisulfide was 12.06mL; sodium-hydroxide was 4g; 1,2-dichloroethane was 7.88mL; the temperature was room temperature and 90℃recpectively; the stirring time was 4h and 4.5h respectively; And by one tep way, the productivity has been 58.7%, when diethylenetriamine was 11.75mL; carbon bisulfide was 12.06mL; sodium-hydroxide was 12g; 1,2-dichloroethane was 7.88mL; the temperature was room temperature and 75℃recpectively; the stirring time was 1.5h and 4.5h respectively.②The order of the synthesized polymer's adsorption property towards a series of heavy metal ions is as follows: Ag+ >Zn2+ >Cu2+ >Hg+. When stirring time was 45 min and pH value was at 5.5, the adsorption property of complex copper ion was 1.54 mmol·g-1. And when stirring time was 45 min and pH value was at 5.0, the adsorption property of complex zinc ion was 1.85 mmol·g-1.③The dithiocarbamates macromolecule heavy metal flocculant has been synthesized. The solubility and characteristic viscosity of the product have been researched and it has also been characterized by UV and IR spectra. The results of optimum condition for synthesis of dithiocarbamates macromolecule heavy metal flocculant have shown that the productivity has been 88.2%, when the weight of polymine and sodium-hydroxide were 3.8g and 4g respectively, the volume of carbon bisulfide and distilled water were 8mL and 13.2ml respectively, the temperature was 30℃and the stirring time was 3h.④The removal results of copper and lead using the synthesized flocculant have shown that: for copper ,when the stirring time was 6 min and pH value was in the range of 7-14, the removal rate of complex copper ion was 99.4%. The quality of dithiocarbamates macromolecule heavy metal flocculant was 0.4g to remove 1.0g copper ion. The turbidity, magnesium ion and calcium ion can promote the copper ion removal. But sodium ion had little effect of the removing of copper. For lead, when the stirring time was 6 min and pH value was in the range of 7-14, the removal rate of complex lead ion was 99.6%. The quality of dithiocarbamates macromolecule heavy metal flocculant was 0.2g to remove 1.0g lead ion. The turbidity, iron ion and calcium ion can promote the lead ion's removal. But sodium ion had side effect of the removing of lead ion.
