Evaluation On Spacial Difference Of Guangzhou Downtown Living Environment

With the rapid development of human society, environmental problems are getting moreand more serious and attract great attentions around the world. And the research on theliving environment of urban has been the focus. Geography is one of the most significantsubject studying the relationships between human activities and environment on the earth.Its unique perspective of space difference plays an important role on the research of livingenvironment, especially on the research of solving the space difference problem during theconstruction of living environment in metropolitan like Guangzhou.This paper analyzes the concept of city's living environment at first and then build up theindex system of evaluating the living environment of Guangzhou Downtown from the fiveelements of safety, convenience, comfort,swiftness and health,followed by the establishmentof index weight by the method of Analytic Hierarchy Process and Delfield's method. Onthe basis of acquiring objective data through questionnaires, the living environment isanalyzed and evaluated from community levels of the whole city, administrative andcommunity in details. And then the living environment is analyzed and studied from theperspectives of space difference on the three levels of the whole city, administrative andcommunity. Finally, this paper summarised the characteristics and problems in the spacedifference in the downtown of Guangzhou and put forward some constructive suggestionson the living environment construction in future as followed: that Guangzhou shouldstrengthen constructions in humanity from the hardware(such as city public transport andecological environment etc.) and software(such as public security and culture construction)for the development of Guangzhou's living environment towards international level.
