Milling is a very important machining method, so the stability of the milling process is still the hot-topics of the manufacturing. But milling process is very complex and non-linear, it is hard to analyse this process. As the development of the computer simulation science, the numerical simulation and the finite element analysing the milling process has become true. Using the Matlab/Simulink and DEF0RM-2D, two different simulation way, make the simulation of the milling process, trying to find out the influence factors of the milling quality.Based on the regenerative vibration theory, sets up two degree freedom dynamics model for the milling process. Using the Matlab/Simulink platform and four rank Runge-Kutta arithmetic, do the numeric simulation of the end-milling. Under the different cutting parameters, gets the cutting force, displacement, acceleration. Analysing how the cutting depdth the system damp and the stiffness effect on the milling process. Also analysing how the different parameters effect on the milling stability. The simulation results indicate that the model is correct and the simulation is effective.Based on the metal cutting's characteristic, the gridding reploting and the shear angle are analysed and the finite element model is set up. The metal plasticity deforming theory is analysed. Choosing the model material, defining the grid and defing the boundary condition, these will be effect on the simulation precision directly. Using the uncoated carbide tool cuts the steel 45#. Getting the effects of the cutting parameters such as cutting velocity, the cutting depth, rake angle on the cutting force cutting temperature and the cutting stress. The results of the simulation show that the cutting parameters have a great effect on the cutting quality. The combination of Matlab and the finite element simulation make a great role in the cutting research.
