Grain size distribution is an important element for the property of most materials. The grain size distribution can be obtained, and the microstructure evolution also be observed from Monte Carlo model used to simulate the grain growth process. So it is greatly signification to design Monte Carlo model simulating grain growth and discuss the mechanism of grain growth.The modified Monte Carlo model is present, the algorithm is improved, the three-dimension Monte Carlo model is designed to simulate grain growth, the simulation system is carried out, and the microstructure evolution of grain growth in calcination process is emulated, via studying the grain growth mechanism in calcination process.The grain size distribution influenced by calcination temperature is discussed. The analysis result shows that calcination temperature is the most important technologic parameter. The microstructure evolution of grain growth is also discussed in calcination temperature, simulation time, neighborhood number, and so on.The grain growth of nano-meter TiO2 in calcination is emulated using the simulation system. It indicates that the value of emulational grain growth exponent is 2.00, the experimental grain growth is 2.17. So the Monte Carlo model reveals the grain growth mechanism and is valuable to the experiment about grain growth kinetics.
