In this dissertation, inorganic nano-(micro-) crystal thin films were prepared onself-source metal foil substrate through hydrothermal method.1. Zinc phosphate nano-(micro-)crystals thin films were obtained on zinc foil.The thin films were constructed with prismlike, square and flakelike micro-crystals.The influence of various experimental conditions on the morphologies of themicrocrystals was investigated. The as-prepared samples were characterized usingXRD and SEM. The experimental results showed that the Zn2(POa)(OH) can beobtained using NaH2PO4·2H2O as reactant. The zinc phosphate thin films wereconstructed with bunches of rodlike microcrystals using NaH2PO4·2H2O as reactantand in the presence of surfactant OP-10. The obtained Zn2(PO4)(OH) microrods were1.5μm in thickness.Zn3(PO4)2·3H2O micro-crystals can be synthesized when Zn(H2PO4)2·2H2O wasused as reactant. The experimental results showed that the as-prepared thin filmsconstructed with the micro-flakes in the presence of CTAB. The nano-(micro-) crystalthin films were formed with irregular particles in the absence of CTAB. When theconcentration of CTAB was increased, the size of micro-raises becomes thinner. Whenthe reaction time was prolonged, thicker Zn3(PO4)2·3H2O micro-flakes were obtained.2. Thin films of constructed with aluminum hydroxide nanosheets were preparedon aluminum foil. XRD results showed that the samples were mainlyβ-AlOOH. Thefilms were built up with aluminum hydroxide nano-sheets, which have thickness ofabout 30nm, length of 300-400nm, and width of 100-200nm. The influence of variousexperimental parameters on the morphology of aluminum hydroxide nano-sheets has been investigated, including the concentration of hexamethylenetetramine (HMT), theaddition of surfactant CTAB, the ratio of N, N-dimethylformamide (DMF) to water inthe solvent, and the reaction time. The aluminum hydroxide nano-sheets becamethinner when the concentration of DMF was increased, and aluminum hydroxideflower-like nano-sheets assemblies would appear on Al foil at higher concentration ofHMT. Aluminum hydroxide nano-plates or nano-sheets would become thicker whenCTAB was added in the system.3. ZnSe microcrystal thin films were synthesized on zinc foil throughhydrothermal method. The experimental results showed that rodlike microcrystalswere obtained in the mixed solvent of EG and water (1:1, v/v). When no EG wasadded in the solvent, ZnSe nanoparticles were deposited on Zn foil. The ZnSenanoparticles would aggregate into hollow spheres in the presence of higherconcentration of CTAB. The samples were characterized using XRD and SEM. UV-visspectrum of as-prepared samples showed a blue shift compared with the bulk ZnSe.
