Removing the oil and sand from the oil-bearing sewage oilfield is the important path and the means to resolve the water resources problem and protect the environment. Centrifuges and hydrocyclones have shown many advantages respectively due to their special separation principle and structural characteristics in this field. They are calling for more attention. Developing a new type of seraration facility which both has the advantage of the two equipments is very valuable for research and will have wider application foreground.Considering the characteristics of both centrifuges and hydrocyclones, vortex board dynamic hydrocyclone, is proposed in this study. It keeps centrifuge's small pressure drop and big treating capacity. It also keeps hydrocyclone's small vibration,anti-blocking and easy discharge. Besides, it has the advantage of self priming. We research this device's energy consumption and capacity through the method of numerical calculation and experiment.Based on establishing modularized testing rig of experiment machine, we test the inner pressure field of the equipment. And we obtain the relationships of pressure drop with motor speed, split ratio and inlet flowrate in the cases of self-priming flow feeding and pump flow feeding. Through orthogonal analysis, the primary effect factor on pressure drop is motor speed.Under the conditions of self-priming flow feeding and pump flow feeding, we study the capability for separation of oil-water mixture and water-sand mixture, and gain the relationship curves of overflow concentration and separation efficiency with motor speed, split ratio and inlet flowrate. The trend of change on separation efficiency of the equipment is obtained under different particle diameters mixture and high viscosity mixture. Through experiment we get particle size distribution characteristics of overflow fluid. To experiment on oil-water separation we get relationships of separation efficiency with motor speed and split ratio inlet. Experimental results show that the equipment can be used as reliable for removing sands from thick water, and can separate fine size sands from mixture .But it has lower separating property in oil-water separation. Through orthogonal analysis the primary effect factor on separation efficiency about water-sand separation is: motor frequency.The internal flow field of vortex board dynamic hydrocyclone is simulated using amended RNGκ-εmodel of FLUENT applications. We obtain inner pressure distribution, velocity distribution and turbulent kinetic energy distribution. The simulation result is in accordance with the experimental data, which proves the correctness of mathematical model and computation.
