In ionic liquid electrocatalytic reduction of Carbon Dioxide and 2-pyridineethanol on nanocrystalline TiO2-CNT Complex Film Electrode were studied in this paper.The results are as follows:1.nanoTiO2/CNT complex film was prepared by sol-gel process and characterized with X-ray diffraction(XRD),transmission electron microscopy(TEM),and scanning electron microscope(SEM).2.1-ethyl-3-methylimidazolium tetrafluoroborate([EMI]BF4)was synthesized by solventless method,the structures were characterized by FT-IR and 1HNMR spectroscopy.3.Redox behavior and electrocatalytic activities of the nanoTiO2/CNT complex film electrode were investigated by cyclic voltammetry(CV) and bulk electrolysis in[EMI]BF4.It was found that there were two pairs of well-defined redox peaks for nanoTiO2/CNT complex film electrode with-1.40 V and -1.92 V in correspondence with TiO2/Ti2O3 reversible and TiO2/Ti(OH)3 quasi-reversible electrode process.The indirect electroreduction of 2-pyridineethanol turn to 2-piperidinoethanol by Ti(â…£)/Ti(â…¢)redox system on nanoTiO2/CNT complex film surface.The electrode reaction mechanism is called catalytic(EC')mechanism.4.Electrocatalytic activities of the nanoTiO2/CNT complex film electrode in the reduction of CO2 in[EMI]BF4 and [EMI]BF4:H2O=1:1 solution were studied by cyclic voltammetry.It was found that The indirect electroreduction of CO2 by Ti(â…£)/Ti(â…¢) redox system has high activity.The fixation of CO2 was investigated by controlled-potential electrolysis on nanoTiO2-CNT complex film electrode and the produce is ivory-white and velvet grain.Electrolysis fixed products were identified using combustion method and UV, FT-IR,elemental analysis and GPC methods.According to the analysis of the spectra of the reductive product,the product is low density polythene(LDPE),weight-average relative molar mass, number-average relative molar mass,weight-average DP, number-average DP and relative molar mass distribution exponent is 351235,188815,12544,6743 and 1.860207,respectively.
