At present, the lack of standards and codes for design, manufacture , assemble and run of electrostatic precipitator in coal-firing power plant results in a series of problems in China. According to some incomplete statistics, during latest two years, three to four accidents of electrostatic precipitator's collapsing (damage) have happened.â‘ By investigating typical engineering examples of electrostatic precipitator's collapsing, and researching failure process of electrostatic precipitator's collapsing, this thesis indicates that the direct reason for electrostatic precipitator breaking down is severe overloading; Moreover, the reason for severe overloading is that there are no substitutive measures to discharge dust after transporting system of dust breakdowns.â‘¡By investigating the datum of coal-ash output, studying and testing the coal-ash gravitational density, this thesis points out the problem of choosing design parameter value, at present and provides some datum of design about electrostatic precipitator that have certain value for reference and guaranteeing probability.â‘¢Based on "Unified standard for reliability design of building structure" GB50068 and "code for design of steel structures" GB50017, this thesis analyses safety degree of structure , puts forward the size of partial factor , at the same time, and also proposes principles and methods for ascertaining coal-ash load.â‘£Aiming at typical engineering failure example of electrostatic precipitator, this thesis sets up the corresponding finite element model, analyses the loading features of structure ,and also studies ultimate bearing capacity of structure.This thesis systematically studies the structure safety of electrostatic precipitator under coal-ash load. The results of this thesis will not only provide reference to design the same kind of electrostatic precipitator, but also accumulate datum for compilation of "code for design of electrostatic precipitator".
