There are more and more lower yield oil wells with invalid pumping problem as continuously extractting in old oil field. Rational control of the pump's work and rest time can save electricity, prevent the break of beam hanger caused by beating liquid, and reduce attrition of the pumps.The key for solving the invalid pumping problem is that the interval between working and stopping time should be reasonably controlled. By analysising cost and output for low yield oil wells, in the paper, the method of flow switch is used to judge if the well bore has the oil flows, which change the traditional experienced method (touch the beam hanger's temperature and look if it has the oil film) and the present automatic liquid level monitoring manner, and it is the closed-loop control and reduce the intensity of labour and the cost of the production. The hill-climbing mathematical method is considered as the most effective way. Based on the analogy between the petroleum and water penetrating process in the formation and the electric capacity charging process in the circuit, the simulation test is taken at the electric circuit for verifying the above method.To achieve rational control, the intelligent Optimization control system adopts the AT89C51 chip which is produced by ATMEL Company. The operation on the spot of this system adopts the double software platform -Wave6000 and Keil uVision C51. The display system's software of his computer center is object-oriented which is the rapid visualization tool produced by Borland. The software which is developed by Delphi6.0 has the merit of the contact surface in a friendly way, the easy way to operate.The paper has the most analysis on the intelligent optimization and explains the principle of the optimization. At the same time, deeeply researched on the realization of the hardware and software function, system debugging and anti-interference performance and so on.The hardware circuits and the software design are the core of the whole system. After debugging, the system can finish the optimization of the pump unit's working time and stopping time, especially it can control the swith of the well. The simulation test indicates that the performance achieves an expectant aim.
