Hydraulic press is an important smithing machine. There are many problems in traditional press design method such as long period, structure redundancy, high cost and lack of validation etc. Along with drastic competition, the corporations need to comprehend the distributing rule of stress and strain of hydraulic pressure in working condition and make the control quick, convenient and viewable in the process of working. All these make us develope a new type of numerical hydraulic press.In this paper the author used ANSYS software to analyze the frame of hydraulic press, improved the frame design according to the analysis results, and used the optimization block of ANSYS to realize the light design of hydraulic press.The author also realized numerical step-less adjusting on pressure of oil route and velocity of work by application of the Proportional Valve in the hydraulic system. In this way we can get variety accessories operated on this hydraulic press alone. The on-line pressure and operation distance can be measured by the sensors and displayed on the screen in the form of curves. In this way, the quality of work pieces can be checked during the processes.Finally the author put forward the idea to develop design of hydraulic pressure and control systems adopting the simulation and modeling blocks of MATLAB.
