In the industry production, the brick moulding machine template of making special industrial brick are requested to have the high wear resistance, But the wear resistance of the existing brick moulding machine template is bad, and its service life is low. This topic, in view of the service condition of brick moulding machine template, selects the low and the middle grade steel and the slap-up mould material WC steel-bonded carbides by means of electro-slag and casting, uses the surface strengthening-hardening treatment to enhance the surface wear resistance of the brick moulding machine template, and thus enhances its service life.This research selects the low-carbon steel Q235, the medium carbon steel selects 45 steel, WC steel-bonded carbides by means of electro-slag and casting selects DGJW40, the first and the second carry on the fine powder borocarbonization to improve its intensity, then carries on quenching and tempering treatment, The last carries on common heat treatment and borocarbonization treatment. Study the organization and the performance of the surface after treatment; Choose the best craft to manufacture new brick moulding machine template; Apply the template in practical production and find out its service condition and failure reason, then improve surface strenghening treatment craft again.The results show that Q235, 45 steel and DGJW40 have the good performance of borocarbonization, all gain the thicker layer after solid powder borocarbonization and the layer organization is even and the performance is good; The craft parameters influence the thickness of the layer, the thickness of the borocarbonizing layer increases with the time extending and the temperature hoisting; the surface microhardness reaches 1200-1600HV0.1 after the treatment; the service life of brick moulding machine template after the improved craft obtains the large scale enhancement after production examination. But the template made of WC steel-bonded carbides by means of electro-slag and casting, its service life is more 10 times than ordinary low-carbon steel and medium-carbon steel. Although the template cost is high, it is suggested to choose WC steel-bonded carbides by means of electro-slag and casting as far as possible in the condition permission considering of changing the template after the machine stopped and surface quality etc.
