Compared with the same chemical composition single crystals, yttrium aluminum garnet ceramic possess many advantages. It is becoming a new generation of laser materials to substitute the single crystals and enlarge the laser matrix material area. And it has the strategetict function in small medium and large laser systems.In this dissertation, the different doped concentration of (NdXY1-X)3Al5O12 precursor powder with homogeneously dispersed, loosely agglomerated, YAG cubic crystal phase were synthesized at 1100℃by co-precipitation method stabilized by ammonia sulfate. According to chemical analysis, such as DTA,XRD,EDS,SEM etc.We studied the optimum temperature of heat treatment. The transparent ceramics were obtained at 1700℃by vacuum sintering. We have studied the mechanism of the vacuum sintering Nd:YAG added TEOS transparent ceramics by XRD,SEM and EDS.The lattice parameter and transmittance were studied.
