Nowadays, chemical pesticides are coming into the new age of "high activity, low toxicity, nopollution". It is an important task to research new pesticides to replace the high toxicityorganophosphate pesticides.The pesticide industry in China has been greatly developed since 1949. Now, in China, the totaloutput of pesticides ranks the second in the world and there are almost 250 kinds of pesticides.However, the pesticide kinds made in China are most those having been developed abroadpreviously. The Chinese companies lack new products with its own intellectual property rights.Furthermore, too many high toxicity or low activity products which would be washed out arestill produced.Aimed at above problems, in the field of creating new condensed heterocyclic compounds withits own intellectual property, the following work is done in this paper.1) The synthesis of lead compound indoxacarb. According to the patents of Du-Poud, from p-chlorophenylacetic acid, via chloroacylation, Fridel-Crafts action, peroxidation, esterification, condensation and so on, indoxacarb was prepared. Its structure was confirmed through ~1H NMR and MS.2) The synthesis of new compounds. From the mother-structure of indoxacarb, via side chain modification, a new compound was prepared. Through remodification the mother-structure of indoxacarb, a new mother-structure compound was prepared; On the basis of this new mother-structure compound, four new compounds were prepared. All these new compounds were confirmed by ~1H NMR and TOF MS, which were not reported before. Preliminary bioassay shows that three compounds have different pesticidal activities.3) The synthesis of benzofunan intermediates. From p-chlorosalicylic acid, via esterification, alkylation, hydrolysis, condensation, bromination and so on, benzofunan intermediates were prepared, which was not reported before. Their structures were confirmed through ~1H NMR and MS.
