Ca-based sorbent has been identified to be one of the best candidates for CO2 capture. However, its capacity of CO2 capture decreases after it undergoes cycles of calcination/ carbonation. This paper proposes special methods to improve the capacity of CO2 capture. Through the experimental investigation, some metal oxide as the additive can slow up the capacity of CO2 capture decreases. Meanwhile describing the vary of the grain of absorbent on the microscopic view, analyzing the reason of the decy of absorbent. A model of varying particle size and pore distribution are presented to describe the characteristic of calcium carbonate undergoes cycles of carbonation /calcination. Analyzing the effect of extraneous factors through calculating the model and the result of the calculation of the model comparing with experimental data, the calculation results are of agreement with the experimental datum. The model can express the character of the cycles of carbonation /calcination, it also can provide the direction for practical application of the the cycles of carbonation /calcination.
