The selective catalytic reduction (SCR) of NOX represents the simplest and most attractive solution for NOX removal. However, although extensive efforts have been made to improve this method, there are still many problems unresolved. After nearly 10 years 'development, zeolite-based catalysts such as zeolite-based Cu-, Co-, In-, Ce-, Pt- or Pd- catalysts are of more advantage for selective catalytic reduction of NOX, which are sensitive to the reaction condition, for instance SO2, H2O, GHSV and so on. For the above consideration, we investigated the effects of second additives on Co/H-beta and Ag/H-beta catalysts respectively in this dissertation. The influence of the cooperating agents was studied on the activity of catalysts for C3H8-SCR in different reaction condition, which furthermore could combine with the catalyst structure. We chose cheaper metal Zn as cooperating agents for Co/H-beta. The effect of Zn addition was investigated on the activity of Co- /H-beta catalysts for C3H8-SCR at high GHSV. Moreover, the strong interaction between these two metal oxides was studied. The Ag-Mn/H-beta catalysts were used H-beta zeolite as support which displaying a promising activity for SCR of NO. The effect of MgO addition on SO2 tolerance of Ag/H-beta for C3H8-SCR was investigated at low temperature. In addition, attention was paid to the effect of Ag and Mn loading on the catalytic performance and the physico-chemical characteristics of Ag-Mn/H-beta. We observed a better catalytic activity of Ag-Mn/H-beta for SCR of NOX at low temperature.
