Under the situation that the NC laser cutting is more and more popularization, the processing efficiency and quality of the advanced laser processing equipments are seriously restricted by the capability of the supporting appropriative CAD/CAM automatic programming system. Therefore, it has important theoretical significance and practical value that develop the investigation on the NC automatic programming for laser cutting. At the same time, it plays an important role in lower the price of the foreign congener software.The function design of the NC graphical interactive automatic programming system for laser cutting was processed based on the requirement of laser cutting and the research results of the NC cutting software at home and abroad. Visual LISP was used for achieving the NC automatic programming system with the exploitation platform Auto CAD. The graphical interactive import function that oriented to NC automatic programming and consistent with the thinking habits of the engineering personnel was discussed. The protract mechanism of elliptical and gear, the realization mechanism of tabulated curve and non-circular curve and the biarc spline fitting algorithm were expounded. This thesis deeply analyzed the graphics data structure of Auto CAD and investigated the methods of automatic recognition and extraction of the inner and outer contour. The processing methods of non-closed contour were also studied for generating NC instruction. Finally, the laser cutting nesting treatment, path optimization, generating NC instruction and machining simulation were investigated and the prototype system were developed and tested by typical laser cutting parts.The key exploitation techniques were also suitable for other laser cutting NC automatic programming system.
