Intake valves and exhaust valves are important parts of the engine. Long-term exposing to high-temperature, high-load, gas corrosion and oxidation environment, there is a strict requirement for the quality of valves in engine manufacturing industry under such serious working conditions and using environment. Electric hot-upsetting process is mainly used in the process of valve roughcasts production, where the reject rate is up to 70%. Therefore, the quality of the air valve roughcasts has a direct effect on that of valves. In order to decrease the reject rate, we must improve the quality of roughcasts.The electric upsetting machine which is used to manufacture the valves has a very broad prospect, so the performance of the maichine is very important. But the automatic level of the traditional electric upsetting machine is very low, and many disfigurements and problems exist in the traditional electric upsetting machine. The production quality depends on the operation level and experience of the workers.Based on theoretical analysis, research and technical parameter testing, the author discusses the relationship between process parameters and quality of valve roughcast, analyzes the main problem of traditional electric upsetting machine, and puts forward a new design of control system in the light of the working principle of electric upsetting machine. According to the function of new machine, the author puts forward the design and implementation methods of hardware based on S3C44B0X microprocessor and software based onμC/OS-Ⅱembedded operating system. Focuses on the design methods of task partition, interrupt service routine creation and modular software in the electric upsetting control system. UsesμC/GUI module and color LCD screen to design friendly interface, and adds a touch-screen function, which will input process parameters expediently, but also can observe values of the parameters and process curves in the LCD screen. Finally, as for the problems that too many process parameters documents exist in the course of upsetting, the paper introduces the embedded file systemμC/FS to manage the technical document. In order to enhance the robustness of control system, it gives upsetting machine control system software and hardware anti-jamming technology.To improve control accuracy and reduce reject rate, control system by stages can take effect on the key process parameters affecting the quality of air valve roughcast. Adopting control by stages in the course of electric upsetting, it divides the process of upsetting into several stages, the pressure, velocity and current values in each stage are used different process parameters so as to improve the forming quality of roughcasts.Finally, in accordance with the basis of the process and demand of characteristic of electric upsetting, the author has particularly analyzed the technical parameter in the testing and the unqualified roughcasts, put forward concrete measures for resolving the problems and gained better test results, combining a large number of technology experiments.New upsetting machine has three operation control modes such as manual, semi-automatic and automatic, and has high control accuracy, high level of automation, humanity and document management features in comparison with the traditional one.
