Variable depth of boring plays an important role in noncircular hole machining.Aim at the numerical control of piston pin-hole which are noncircular or which are barreled along the length, the key technical aspects related are discussed, and it includes such contents as follows:1. Based on the comparing of the noncircular turning and the noncircular boring. The total scheme of the variable depth of boring machine is put forward. Power supply of the boring system which is located revolving spindle and the message interchange between the boring control system and the immovable host computer has been considered as the key technique in the variable depth of boring machine.2. In terms of the power supply of the boring control system in the revolving spindle, the installationan of an existing permanent magnet generator has been changed.The stator is fixed with the spindle and the rotor is fixed on the base of boring machine.when the spindle revolves,the coil in the stator supply power to the control system in spindle.3. The message interchange between the control system and the immovable host computer is realized by nRF905, a sigle-chip radio transceiver.The hardware of the boring control system which include nRF905,C8051 MCU,and the interface of spindle encoder,the driving circuit of PZT is designed. The communication program is worked out, which include the host computer control board, transmitting and executive program. The immovable host computer dialogizes with the revolving spindle is actualized in the variable depth of boring machine.The experimental result shows that power supply has enough power to drive PZT as well as control system, and the wireless communication is reliable when the spindle is rotated at 1500rpm.The key technique is solved in the variable depth of boring system,which provide a new direction for the research.
