The hydraulic powered supports are used to assure the workspace and safety in modern fruitful and efficient coal mining, whose weight and cost count for about 80%-90% and 60%-70% respectively in whole comprehensive mechanized coal mining machines. The main components of hydraulic powered supports are unwieldy and complicated, whose safty and reliability are the key to the comprehensive mechanized coal mining technology.In this paper, the main failure forms are formulated by synthesize the relevant references on the analysis of the intensity, testing stress analysis, simulated testing by computer, finite element analysis, use complexion analysis, and stress test analysis on WS1.7 hydraulic powered support in Zhengzhou coal machinery company. On the base of failure analysis, the scrapped checking criterions of hydraulic powered supports are established by consulting relevant checking criterions and standards of powered supports, including the detection of the state of the main body, geometric distortion, weiding seam, and the assort clearance of joint holes. Finally, DBT2×4319 powered supports are taken for example to approve the feasibility of the scrapped checking criterions, which will help provide the retirement mangement of hydraulic powered supports with theoretical gist and data supports, and make the retirement mangement of hydraulic powered supports become more scientifically and reasonably.
