A main factor that restricts the recycle of products is the low efficiency and high costs in disassembling the waste products. One of solutions is active disassembly using smart materials (ADSM). The core of ADSM is active disassembly devices posted in products, what are mainly made of shape memory alloy (SMA) or shape memory polymer (SMP). Active disassembly device is mechanic devices that can make the connection of components inoperative by changing shape or other ways in some certain environments, and then the products will self-detached. There are two kinds of active disassembly devices. One kind affords power that detaches components, what are made of SMA and have no connect function. Another kind of active disassembly device themselves are connector; they disassemble products by changing shape or lose their connection intensity.
