This article mainly studied the high speed TIG welding craft of thin plate. The copper sheet is welded with TIG welding whose heat input easily controlled, thermal energy is focused companied with small heat-affected zone, small welding deformation, uniform heat input on whole weld. In TIG welding process, the temperature field distribution in the weldment had reflected the complex welding thermal process, so it's significant to carry on the numerical simulation to weld temperature field.This article has established numerical analysis three-dimensional model of the heat transfer process of high speed TIG welding, to carry on the temperature field computation to TIG welding process of sheet copper. This model is designed on whole about the convection heat transfer, heat conduction from melten pool, varying with temperture on material properties, heat convention and radiation from weld surface and temperture field of latent heat. The circulation action of heat source is applied by the re-development of ANSYS, with calculating the temperature field distribution and the molten pool width with various welding craft parameters, and analyzing the influence of the different welding current, the welding voltage and the welding speed. Meanwhile, the stress analysis on molten pool is executed. The molten pool mainly receives the arc force, the molten pool metal gravity and the surface tension. The equation of stable molten pool has been established to obtain the relationship between the welding current and melt width, and the preliminary forecast to the electric current scope.The welding experiment in the electric cable production line gives a confirmation and the contrast analysis to the numerical simulation. The research indicated that the analysis model and its numerical solution method are reasonable, the option to physical performance parameters is close to fact.
