A hand-held hydraulic roof bolt driller with non-circular planetary gear motor is designed in this dissertation. Based on the analysis of its structure principle and performances, a hydraculic non-circular planetary gear motor which is used in the hand-held hydraulic roof bolt driller is designed with the method of robust design. Then a new hand-held hydraulic roof bolt driller with non-circular planetary gear motor is designed in the end. Based on the reasonable assumption of physical model of the driller, the static and dynamic characteristic equations are derived and verified by test in the end.First of all, the strcture and the work principle of the non-circular planetary gear motor is analised and its characteristics are concluded compared with other kinds of hydraulic motors. The strctures and the performances of different types of non-circular planetary gear motors are also analised. And on the basis of studying on the non-circular planetary gear mechanism, the designing method of the pitch curve is put forward.Next, the structure characteristics and using requirements of the non-circular planetary gear motor which is used in hand-held roof bolt driller are studied comprehensively and the mathematical model is established. And then a non-circular planetary gear motor is designed with the method of robust design.Again, a hand-held hydraulic roof bolt driller with the non-circular planetary gear motor designed above is designed. On the basis of reasonable assumption of physical model, the static and dynamic characteristic equations of the hydraulic system of the driller are established. The static characteristic equations include the velocity characteristic equation and the load characteristic equation. And the dynamic characteristic equations are relationships between the speed output and the inputs which are the flow and load applied on the driller. Then a mathematical model of the torque loss inner the motor is set up and solved by test and computer simulation. And the characteristic curves are also solved meanwhile.Finally, the hand-held hydraulic roof bolt driller which is drived by the non-circular planetary gear motor is executed. Then a characteristic test is performed to prove the mathematical model, and the characteristic curves are produced as a result.
