There are abundant siderite resources in China. Up to now there is not yet precedent that producing pellet by making use of siderite. It is an important measure to alleviate iron mine lack and optimization blast furnace burden by using abundant siderite resources to produce pellet. With the continuously development of Longmen Iron and Steel company, the self-producing iron mineral concentrate can't satisfy blast furnace ironmaking requirement so it is necessary to exploit and utilize siderite resources. How to do the reasonable ratio of raw material containing iron and produce pellet with Daxigou siderite is an urgent question to be resolved at present.This paper aims at the actual producing pellet situation of Longmen Iron and Steel company, adopting theory analysis and experiment research method, the suitable ratio and production conditions are determined by making use of Daxigou siderite; pellet metallurgy and physical performance change under different ratio of raw material containing iron and bentonite adding conditions is investigated. The raw material performance, pellet performance under different ratio, the physicochemical performance of additive bentonite and influence of bentonite on pellet sphericity and intensity are researched under laboratory conditions. Get to draw conclusions as below:(1)When 100%Daxigou siderite pelleting, although the strength of green pellets and aroasted pellets is higher, but its sphericity is poor and bursting temperature is low, which is disbennifit for industrial production so it is needed to proportion a certain quantity other mine powder and a suitable pelletizing time of 30 minutes. The Daxigou siderite mineral accountting for 40% and 50% distribution ratio series, granulating rate and particle size composition is good and compressive strength and fall strength is high.(2) When Daxigou siderite pelleting, a suitable bentonite dosage is 1.5%. Generally speaking, Yangxian bentonite pelleting effect is better than Longgang bentonite. When moisture is 10%, compressive strength and fall strength of green pellets is high. (3) When Daxigou siderite pelleting, a suitable roasting temperature is 1200℃. At this temperature, compressive strength after aroasted of Daxigou siderite mineral accountting for 40% and 50% distribution ratio series is high; compressive strength of bentonite dosage of 1.5% series is better than bentonite dosage of 1% series.(4) Softening interval of samples with Daxigou siderite accounting less than 50% is narrow and droplet temperature is high, and most large pressure difference is high with better permeability, which is beneficial to blast furnace strengthening smelting.(5)From the results of Daxigou siderite pelleting granulating, roasted pellets performance and finished pellets metallurgical performance, the quality of pellets can be improved through adding other concentrate ore mine powder to Daxigou siderite mine powder when pelleting and the suitable ratio of Daxigou siderite mine powder is between 40%-50%.In this experiment, the analysis and research of the suitable ratio and production conditions of Daxigou siderite producing pellets is done, which can provide basis for the large-scale industrialization production.
