Poly(butylene succinate) produced by succinic acid butanediol ester is an biodegradable polymers, and is easily decomposed by microbiology or enzyme in nature with the final productof CO2 and H2O. At present, PBS, as a novel biomaterial, has many potential uses in a wide range of medical, pharmaceutical, industrial and agricultureal applications. The aim of this work is to try to find out the microorganisms which can be able to degrade PBS , and to study the performance and the degeneration rule of the single strain of bacteria and degradation of mixed fungus. The effect which the discussion microorganism alternate growth and the enzyme affect together, is the PBS application establishes the theory and the practice foundation. The main results obtained from this work are as follows:1. Four kinds of strains able to degrade PBS were isolates from the mud which was discharged by No.3 Petrol-Company of Fushun, coded as YH0501,YH0502,YH0503,YH0504,YH0505. One kind of fungi which have a fast degradation rate, coded as YH0503, were identified preliminarily: YH0503 belongs to Aspergillus versicolor.2. The Aspergillus versicolor YH0503, a strain of degrading PBS, was mutated by UV mutagenesis compound LiCl mutagenesis and microwave mutagenesis. Through screening a lot of mutants with the method of culture filtrate, one mutant which has stable character of heredity has been obtained, coded as YH0503-e. The activity of the enzyme which is abstracted from YH0503-e is 14.1% more than that is from YH0503.3. To three strain different raise condition fumble, had determined the YH0503-e, YD0401, WLB0601 most suitable pH respectively are 5.5, 5.5, 6.0, three strain most suitable growth temperatures are between 28 ~ 30℃.4. Two complementary synergy of the mixture of the YD0401 and WLB0601is conducive to the formation of PBS depolymerase, when compared to the activity increased by 27.3% and 49.1%.5. The degraded product with PBS depolymerase was monomer succinic acid butanediol ester analyzed by using mass spectrometer.6. The degradation process of PBS films was monitored by using SEM. It illustrated that the surface of materials eroded had some honeycomb holes, but the surface of PBS without erosion is smooth. It was shown that the PBS film can be degraded.
