During the manufacturing process of the cranes, welded structures were put into great use in each step of the procedure. From accessories' welding to subsection' assemblage, even total segments' combination include them. Weld splice is an important part of welded structures, whose inner residual stress affects its performance greatly. The residual stress may reduce the intensity and toughness of the cranes, moreover, it may leads to corrosive split on welded parts', the distortion due to the residual stress does harm to the precision control of the cranes, which affects the final quality. Therefore, studying the rule of weld residual stress and reducing the harmful residual stress become very important.Based on the former research, the paper emphasis on the following contents according to theory analysis and FEM method:1) Expatiate the process of weld residual stress and its affection to welded structures theoretically.2) Expatiate the knowledge about temperature field and weld residual stress' field due to the asymmetry temperature and FEM theory for welded process.3) Study the theory and key steps of the numerical simulation on ANSYS, which is about temperature field and weld residual stress' field.4.) Study the method of acquiring the data relates to weld residual stress by experiment.5) Take weld problem of the main part of metal structure as an example, will weld the residual stress the experimental value and carries on the comparative analysis using the ANSYS software's analysis simulation value and the related literature...
