Be different from the conventional way to feed non-sticky materiel by using the twin helix. In this thesis, twin screw, instead of twin helix, is used to feed sticky materiel- cooked rice. The purpose is to feed cooked rice by inequable velocity twin screw feeding machine for single screw extruder, also to solve the problem of "bridge" when it feeds materiel to the single screw extruder.This inequable velocity twin screw feeder has several characteristics. It can use the single screw or twin screw to feed materiel; the position of the main screw and the accessorial screw can be exchanged; the velocity of the main screw can be adjusted. Several experiments have been done by using this equipment in different condition. Such as, exchanging the position of the main screw, adjusting the velocity of the main screw, changing the containing water of cooked rice, water cooked rice and cooked rice, and so on. Then the phenomena and data of the experiment have been analyzed. Through improving on the machine's configuration, several conclusions have been obtained.Firstly, the problem of "bridge" has been solved when it feed materiel to the single screw extruder. Secondly, the output is not only high but also steady using the twin screw to feed materiel than using the single screw. Thirdly, because the velocity of the main screw is higher than the velocity of the accessorial screw and the circumgyrating direction is rightward, when the position of the main screw is in the righthand, the accessorial screw can feed material to the main screw easily, the output is higher and it is easier to feed material. When the percent of the containing water of cooked rice is 73.6%, the percent of the output is higher than 59.6%. When the velocity of the main screw is between 50r/min and 90r/min, the output is much steadier.In this paper, sticky materiel- cooked rice can be fed into the inequable velocity twin screw feeder easily. After analyzing the results of experiments, the structure of this machine has been improved, and some technologic parameters have been gotten. Further more, some basal work has been done for the research on feeding sticky materiel.
