Printing and dyeing wastewater is characterized with great change in quantity and quality, complicated composition and high level in organic pollutants many of which are hard to be degraded by microorganism, adding to the high colority and pH value. This kind of industry wastewater is difficult to treat, so it is necessary for us to search for an economical process and effective method to solve the problem. Circulated moving Carrier -Membrane Bioreactor(CMC-MBR)was a kind of new technology which combines aerobic moving bed biofilm reactor with membrane bioreactor. This paper studies on the treatment of refractory printing and dyeing wastewater under the ordinary temperature.During the process, the pressure of membrane separation was supplied by the difference of water levels, which saved the power consumption. This low- pressure operation could maintain high membrane flux and extend the operation cycle.Experimental results showed that: the Circulated moving Carrier -Membrane bioreactor could remove the CODcr, NH3-N and colority effectively;This process was fairly reliable with consistent performance and remarkable endurance under impact load .Moreover, The effluent quality also met the requirement of Grade 1, Discharge Standard for Contamination of Textile Printing and Dyeing Industry (GB4287-1992). The colority removal efficiency is an important index which tests the removal effect of printing and dyeing wastewater. We investigate the effects of the influent CODcr, sludge concentration, glucose matrix concentration,NH3-N concentration and pH value on the decoloration rate .Experiment was carried out to investigate the mechanism of mebrane fouling and its control method, with the treatment of printing and dyeing wastewater use Circulated moving Carrier -Membrane Bioreactor. It was shown that critical pressure, aeration intensity and sludge characteristic was the principal factor affecting the membrane fouling,And the chemical cleaning(NaOCI + H2SO4) of membrane could recover the membrane fouling effectively.
