Dimethyl carbonate is regarded as the foundation of organic synthesis in the 21 century. More applications of dimethyl carbonate are developed and the consumption is rising now. As an environment-friendly reaction intermediate, dimethyl carbonate can substitute toxic phosgene, dimethyl sulfate and methyl chloride in many fields such as pharmaceuticals, pesticides and dyestuff.In this thesis, carbon monoxide, oxygen and dimethyl ether are firstly used to synthesize dimethyl carbonate, which is carried in a high-temperature and high-pressure resistant stainless steel autoclave reactor. The reaction mixtures are analyzed qualitatively and quantificationally with gas chromatography in experimental process.By using Sol-Gel method, CeO2/ZrO2 was preparated. CuO/Ce0.8Zr0.2O2, NiO/Ce0.8Zr0.2O2, PdO/Ce0.8Zr0.2O2, CuO-PdO/Ce0.8Zr0.2O2 were fabricated by water- impregnation method, whose structures were studied with XRD,XPS,TEM,H2-TPR and CO-PTR. The experiments had been carried at different temperatures, pressures and proportions of the reagents for different activation time with diverse catalyst quantity so as to acquire their effects on the yields of DMC and then to find the optimal reaction conditions were obtained: temperature 140℃, pressure 1.5 MPa, catalyst quantity 2.5 g, reagents'proportions CO : O2 : DME=2:1:2 and activation time 20 h. Finally, the reaction mechanism about carbonylation of dimethyl ether was also briefly discussed.
