| Powder metallurgy is a special technic which combines the metal material preparation with working components in the same process, it is also an effective tool which can improve material performance and develop new materials. Powder metallurgy technic has been an advancing front of present material science development. As a high-energy powder compaction technology, powder magnetic pulse compaction technology has obvious superiority in energy controlling and working efficiency, which can restrain the growth of grains and improve the relative density and the mechanical properties of the products.In this article, Cu and TC4 powders are compacted by magnetic pulse with the flat coil. It analyses the relations between pressed compacts and various parameters, such as temperature, discharging voltage, discharging capacity, powder mass and discharging times. The conclusions are followings: The relative density of the components is not always increasing when temperature rises. In fact, it has a maximum; The relative density is improved when the other parameters increase besides the temperature. Because of the finite charging energy of the equipment, compacting for many times is a good way to get uniform pressed compacts with high density; In the same condition the density of the Cu powder pressed compacts is better than the TC4 powder.The specimens were observed under microscope and their hardness was tested. The effect of the processing parameter on the relative density of the compacted specimens is verified by the distributing rules of the specimens'microcosmic tissue and hardness. Generally speaking, it's harder of the upper surface and the hardness of the lower surface edge is lower. The center of the specimens is harder.The research results indicate that it is feasible to use powder magnetic pulse compaction technology to manufacture powder products. It has important significance to optimize the processing parameter of powder magnetic pulse compaction technology. |
