In recent years, the development of iron and steel industry is vigorous, and the demand for round-steel is rising sharply. But in the process of rolling,cooling and shearing, due to plasticity deformation, uneven cooling and heating or transportation and stacking, round-steel will produce bending and distortion in different degree, or internal residual stress, which will affect the quality of finished products. Therefore, these defects are necessary to be eliminated in production via straightening.Two web roll straightening machine applies to straightening tubes and bars. Depending on its simple structure, convenient operation and high straightening precision, this kind of machine was widely used in machine manufacture, the metallurgy, and the instruments and meters industry. In recent years, with the development of computer technology, and the combination between computer-aid design (CAD) and the computer-aid manufacturing (CAM), it makes automation of products designing and manufacturing possible. Accordingly, the performance and quality of products were greatly improved, and the product development cycle was shortened, which enhanced the competitiveness of products and created remarkable benefits.Pro/ENGINEER is one of the maximal development systems which integrates CAD/CAE/CAM. It not only has three-dimensional computer evaluation product design and highly automated two-dimensional engineering drawing function, but also has the formidable project analysis ability, which make the finished products that people developed not only possess appearance and layout value, but also have project application value.On the basis of theoretical research, two roller straightening machine straightening roll CAD/CAM system based on Pro/E was developed using Pro/TOOLKIT tool bag and Visual C++6.0 in this paper. This system is composed of roller contour characteristic module and roller numerical control processing module. Through procedure setting, adding menu in Pro/E, inputting designing parameters through the dialog box can be realized and coordinate parameters that rolling needs can be calculated out, then calling Pro/TOOLKIT function creating rolling module; Entering into manufacturing pattern, assemble work piece and components, and then processing according to contour can be carried on, and simulation demonstration of processing path together with numerical control code through post treatment can be obtained. Example ran in this system was provided in this paper.
