Copper smelting slags containing copper and other metals prove to be a valuable source when reclaimed.The technology of recovery of copper and zinc in the slag from horizontal continuous casting of brass is presented.Based on the study of the copper slags composition feature and structure,a new technology is put forward in this paper,which is recovering copper by fire refining and electrorefining of blister copper,recovering zinc by purification of leaching solution and zinc electrowinning.The copper electrorefining is investigated.The result improves that under the conditions of current density 220 A/M~2,Cu 55 g/L,H2SO4 180g/L,electrolyte temperature 60℃,electrolysis time 2h,the current efficiency is 95.56%,the average cell voltage is 0.25V,the purity of the electrolytic copper is 99.12%.The technology conditions of the lixivium's purification are studied in detail.In order to remove iron hydronium the technology of iron removal by air oxidation is used.Under the conditions that tcmperature,PH,reaction time are 85℃,5,not more than 5.5,3h respectively,test result is obtained that the total iron hydronium of the purified lixivium is less than 0.0017g/LZinc powder is used to eliminate Cu hydronium and Ni hydronium in the lixivium.The result shows that the suitable conditions are that the temperature, reaction time,quantity of Zinc powder and PH should be 30℃,60min,0.16g/L,4 respectively and the total Cu hydronium in the purified solution is 0.275mg/L,and that of Ni is less than 1.4mg/L,which meet the requirements of the quality of hydronium for zinc electrowinning.With the conditions of current density 500A/M~2,electrowinning temperature 40℃,Zinc concentration 150g/L,sulfuric acid concentration 160g/L,The zinc electrowinning is investigated.The result shows that the current efficiency is 91.12%, the average cell voltage is 3.42V,the purity of the electrowinning zinc is 99.91%.
