Respond to its negative impacted on the art design , In-depth study on Chinese culture and Systematic study on the Traditional artifacts with the characteristics of the nation are Very necessary; It is issue to explore how highlight the Localization design in the globalization scenes for Chinese contemporary design .The topics of this thesis is about Chinese traditional lanterns, With Modeling characteristic as a point of penetration, with time as the coordinates, summed up modeling features of Chinese traditional lanterns, We try to find out the Creator concept , modeling methods and modeling disciplinarian from the process of the traditional culture and the course of the evolution of Chinese traditional modeling features of the artifacts. Provide Help for the design of the modern lamps and other industrial products, and services for the formation of the modern Chinese characteristics design.The thesis contains the following five parts.Firstly, the introduction part explains the background and meaning, research content and methods of the thesis.Secondly, Chapter II gives the overall awareness of Chinese traditional lamps. Including the exploration , the basic structure and the classification of traditional lanterns. In the third part, First, looking back on the evolvement of our country's the traditional lanterns. Then in basis of the second chapter, analysis the evolution shape of the lamps on the overall. lastly, to follow history---the Han Dynasty ago, the Han Dynasty, after Han Dynasty, analysis the modeling features of traditional lanterns from the modeling category, quantity, Component and other aspects .The forth part is the critical part of the thesis. on the basis of the study witch focus on the cognitive of modeling products'characteristics. refined modeling concepts, modeling approach of the traditional lighting of, and choose the key dimensions of the traditional lanterns of the quantitative analysis, summarized shape rules.In the fifth part, the thesis expatiate the inspiration which the traditional lanterns gives to the modern product design, provides a proposal based on practical design, and, interpretations of modeling features of traditional Chinese lanterns.
