| Plastic is a popular materials in products design at present. It becomes designers and consumers favorites, due to its colorful and excellent material performance and various molding. But there exists problems, such as plastic products invalidation. It results in a wrong impression that plastic products is not reliable in the long term. On the science and practicality of plastic products, the key is to avoid the blindness and casualness in the plastic products design. The aim of this thesis is to analyze those common elements that cause plastic invalidation; and study methods that can avoid plastic invalidation. It would benefit our small and medium size enterprises in some areas, such as reducing production costs, improving the usability and reliability of products. The first part of the thesis is the introduction. It states the aim and significance of this study, and some methods adopted for this study. The second chapter is to analyze some common basic characteristics of plastic, and the main processing methods adopted currently; and explore further characteristics of each processing method. The third chapter is to analyze the reason why plastic invalidation being caused, including mechanical factor and non-mechanical factor. The fourth section, is to get into details that the reason why invalidation being caused, emphasized on those key elements internal functionary mechanism, and its calculate formula. The fifth chapter, based on the above analysis of plastic invalidation and the characteristics of plastic processing technology, materials selections, plastic structure design and sprue gate design are presented in detail. The following part is cases study, which presents the feasibility of those design. Meanwhile, it forecasts there would exist some problems because of material creep deformation. The objective of this thesis, is to sum up the reason that causes plastic invalidation, and sore out feasible analytical methods that can avoid plastic invalidation. It would get rid of the awkward of empiricism. It is an exploration for improving feasibility of plastic products. It could be a reference for a further study in this field. |
