The principle of electrical resistance probe corrosion monitoring: Loss of metal by corrosion or erosion gives increased resistance in Ohms for the sensor-element which is charged with DC current, Compared with polarization method, electrical resistance method is not only applied in solution of electrolyte but also non electrolyte,gases,solid particles and organic stance etc. Compared with magnetic resistance method, electrical resistance test equipment is simple and price is inexpensive. So it is widely used by corrosion monitoring of the petrochemical industries and natural gas.This article develops system instrument of electrical resistance probe corrosion monitoring based on the principle of temperature compensation, the internal structure and manufacturing process of electrical resistance probe were learned through anatomizing the probes. In order to learn the technology and method of making the corrosion monitoring equipment, electric resistance between guide edges of RCS2600T was tested which was for studying the relations among reference electrical resistance and tested electrical resistance and checked electrical resistance.Using high accuracy AV electric bridge to test the changing value of electrical resistance probe in different temperature and finding that contact potential and temperature difference potential are among different metal of electrical resistance probe and the measuring error was caused by weld effect, discussing the correction method to different measuring error. Optimizing the circuit design, data collecting and analyzing, current supply of batteries and communication agreement based on principles above. Meanwhile three principles and method to temperature compensation were improved, comparing which to find that alternating current compensating circuit compensated the electric resistance caused by environmental temperature changing.The corrosion monitoring equipment automatically woke at every one to twenty-four hours, stabilized slug was used to extend the serviceable life of batteries, which made the corrosion monitor of electrical resistance probe is more advantaged.Using the designed ER400 electrical resistance probe to do experiments in different temperature, the results showed that data were more reliable, the sensitivity was higher, the stability was better comparing with electrochemical polarization method. The experiments in Centre Stage G21-21 and South Stage G31-12 were for three months and the results among the electrical resistance method and iron-rod corrosion method and MKr magnetic reluctance system showed that measuring data were almost the same in the altering tendency.This article innovating point: studying on mechanism of contact potential and temperature difference potential which is affected on temperature excursion of electrical resistance probe and introduced means of temperature compensation to resistance temperature excursion.
