GMAW is widely used for low cost automation and mechanization. At the same time, the welding technology has to meet higher requirements, so as to minimize the negative impacts of human factors and facilitate the use of advanced equipment in the welding process. Therefore, the parameters detection in the welding process and the stability evaluation in quantity are not only the preparation for detecting and controlling the welding process, but also the effective tools to predict the welding quality, and the effective means for welding equipments and welding experiments as well.In this paper, the GMAW-P and CO2 short-circuit arc welding were analyzed based on the data acquisition system and the high-speed camera system. A LabVIEW procedure was designed. In this procedure, the welding current, the arc voltage and the photography of the high-speed camera for the arc behavior were displayed comprehensively simultaneously, and the numerical value of the welding current and the arc voltage were simultaneously showed on the interface of LabVIEW. In the procedure, the statistical data of the main welding parameters were obtained, including the variance of the base current value, the average current, the standard deviation of the time of peak current, the average cycle, the coefficient of variation of the duty cycle in GMAW-P and the variance of the cycle of short-circuit, the average of the short-circuit time, the average of the arcing time, the standard deviation of the short-circuit voltage, the standard deviation of the arcing voltage, the coefficient of variation of the peak of current in CO2 short-circuit arc welding, and so on.Furthermore, the procedures of GMAW-P and CO2 short-circuit welding analysis and evaluation systems were tested independently through the welding experiments. The procedures were mainly divided into two parts. The first part was composed of the synchronous display of the welding current, the arc voltage and the photography and the real-time display of the numerical value of the current and voltage in LabVIEW, that is, the photo-electric signals in the welding processing synchronization display module. The other part was the statistical analysis of the main data of welding parameters, namely, the statistical analysis of parameters module. Finally, some welding experiments of GMAW-P and CO2 short-circuit welding were analyzed and evaluated via this procedure, and some conclusions were drawn, which were useful for the future application.
