Study On The Cluster Of LFC In Cast Iron&Cast Steel For Small To Medium Casting Process

Cluster casting technique has a century-old history, from mint to traditional foundry, then to precision casting, as much as LFC, which can increase rate of production and is used widely in the production of medium parts. Although much experience has accumulated in our country, there is still a long way for us to go.At present, the cluster of LFC (lost foam casting) is widely used in the production of medium /small parts. Among the factors, the design of feeding system is the most important one, which have a great effect on quantity, quality, and the output of production. The author had an investigation on the NO. four factory of agglomeration & metalworking of Wuhan steel combine,Jianghan vehicle factory,Suizhou suitong foundry, etc, and found that all the companies adopt the cluster of LFC to improve the efficiency for medium and small parts. For the lack of the guidance of related theory, they have to try many times to gain the suitable technique parameter for particular parts, which really is a waste of human resource, material and time. So it is essential that we should further our research on lucubrating the feeding of LFC.In this dissertation, the author makes a summary of the feeding system of Cluster casting. According to the foam part's position to runner, the typical structures of cluster casting have been classified into three types, horizontal cluster casting, vertical cluster casting and cluster around. Besides, the cluster casting design and experiment of cast iron valve, ductile cast iron pressure plate,cast steel impact block & high manganese steel hammering are also described. Against the familiar defects of cluster casting such as sand washing,sand adhesion,cinder inclusion,dispersed shrinkage,ripple and so on. Design the pouring cup of strobe pattern,hollow sprue of foam,sphere riser of atmospheric, through experiment & analyze exist problem ,then improve the design .
