The researches on the urban heat island (UHI) effect have been developed deeply along with the rapid development of urban size and urbanization level. It has very important significance to conduct researches on the UHI of mountainous cities for planning the rational city population, improving the resident environment and reducing the energy consumption. In this paper, in order to approach the relationship between UHI and partial factors, we conduct qualitative contrast and analysis by the way of experiment, and we try to find the reasons that influence the UHI. The linear regression between the land characteristics and the UHI effect has been researched on the areas in Shapingba district in Chongqing city. As a part of experiment, we first attempt to explore the distribution of UHI in Chongqing municipalities by the use of mobile measurement methods. Several issues have been studied in this paper:Firstly, we analyze the one-dimensional energy balance model, and tidy up several of factors that influence UHI intensity. We also arrange the measuring points according to the different land use structures.Secondly, the observation that last 24 hours is carried out about thermal environment around the 8 measuring points in Shapingba district, from which we obtain the temperature change of different kinds of land use characteristics. Than we carry out statistics to the experiment data, and give preliminary qualitative analysis on the mechanism of shaping UHI.Thirdly, the method of combine computer-aided measuring tools with aerial photos is used in the quantization of different underlying surfaces data. The method of linear regression is used to analyze the relationship between the land characteristics and the whole temperature of a day, the daytime temperature and the night temperature. By comparing the coefficients of different time and different radius, the degree of the affection of each factor on the measuring point temperature is gotten.Finally, we have conducted twice mobile measurement in the range of Shapingba district, Jiulongpo district and Dadukou district by the use of high sensitive sensors and automated data acquisition system that integrate GPS orientate. Then we use Surfer 8.0 software to draw temperature field and relative humidity field of mobile measurement areas according to the experiments data. We have preliminary carried out the researches on the reason of different factors that affect the air temperature and relative humidity in Chongqing municipalities, meanwhile, we have explored suitable technology specification of mobile measurement during the research on urban micro-climate.
