In our country, combined pollution is also very serious and common. The oil aromatic hydrocarbon leak of filling station, the degradation products of alkylphenol ethoxylates especial nonylphenol and heavy metals could be found in Chaobai River,in Beijing. These pollutants are terribly harmful to plants, animals and human beings. In addition, the heavy metals as a "vector" or "ligand",could affect other organic pollutants on their transport and transformation. So,in the paper,phenanthrene-copper,nonylphenol-copper were chosen as the targets objects, and the purpose of the study is to research the sorption of organic pollutants and heavy metals by natural sediments before and after extracted the active component(Mn oxides,Fe/Mn oxides and organic matters). The results gained from the study are list out:(1) The sorption isotherms of phenanthrene and nonylphenol both fitted well to the Freundlich model.(2) In the range of the pollutants concentrations, the sorption of phenanthrene by the original sediment hardly changed with copper addition.Likewise, the sorption of copper almost unchanged in the presence of phenanthrene.(3) Under experimental condition,Cu had a remarkable effect on the nonylphenol sorption. When the concentration of copper was 5 mg/L,the nonylphenol sorption was inhibited. However, when the concentration of Cu ions was over 10mg/L,the sorption of nonylphenol increased greatly.(4) FTIR supported that the function groups including -OH,-NH,-COOH played roles in the sorption process, which illustrated there existed hydrogen bonding adsorption in the process.(5) The sorption of nonylphenol on the sediments removed Mn oxides rose greatly, sorption on the sediments removed Fe-Mn oxides followed. The author made analysis of the sorption of Cu2+-phenanthrene and Cu2+-nonylphenol on the natural sediments, preliminarily discussed effects of components on the sorption of nonylphenol and Cu2+,which provided some helpful references for the sorption of target pollutants in the real environment.
