This paper takes the area around the Gangue hill of Fushun West Open-pit mine as the research subject ,use grey cluster method to evaluate the soil heavy metal environmental quality, through field investigation and lab analysis to research the characteristics of biotic community composition. The main results show as follow:(1)The area around the Gangue hill of Fushun West Open-pit mine was polluted by heavy metal, the degree is not very serious. From single-factor analysis, the contents of Cd in soils are over 10 times higher than the background value.(2)There were 10 species of main plants in this area .Analysis from natural ecotypes, dominated by annual herb. The number of perennial herb was increase as the distances increase. According to the calculation of enrichment coefficient, there was on super-accumulation plant, therefore can only Introduce super-accumulation plants from other area or cultisate gene mutation species to develop phyto-remediation.(3)There were 29 genus of nematodes had been Identificated , Acrobeloides was the dominant species. As the distance to the gangue hill changed the dominant species was different.(4) As the distance to the gangue hill increased , the number of Soil bacteria has also increased .The dominant species were Hzlobacillus,Cellulomonas,Curtobacterium and Terrabacter .
