Electrochemical machining(ECM) is widely used in aerospace,aviation,steam turbine and many other industries. Electrochemical machine tool is one of key equi- pment in ECM system. Finite element static analysis,modal analysis and topology optimization analysis were carried on in this paper. The content and outcomes are as follows:(1)The overall layout,components structure and loading problem of electro- chemical machine tool were analyzed and discussed.(2)Built and assembled the 3D solid modes of key parts of electrochemical machine tool by CATIA software. Based on those modes,the finite element model of key parts of the machine tool was established. Then the static analysis was carri- ed on and stress-strain distribution of key part were gained. We draw conclusions that the stiffness and strength of machine tool are both sufficent and the structural design of machine tool is conservative. We got the natural frequencies and the first six vibration modes of the machine tool. The vibration mode charts illustrate that there are some partial vibration modes,its overall dynamic stiffness and mass distribution is more balanced,machine tool has good dynamic characteristics.(3)Carried on the electric test of machine tool. Compared the test result with the result of finite element calculate,then educed the conclusion of which the two results are identical under the permission range of error. The conclusion validates the result of finite element calculate and ensures the security of the calculate result applied production and optimization design. (4)Topology optimization of key part of the machine tool was applied by the ANSYS software and the design of machine tool was improved based on the result. By the comparison of finite element analysis results between the former and latter, the machine tool maintains stiffness and strength reserve,its weight has been redu- ced,the carrying capacity of materials can be fully utilized.
